Sorry for the lack of updates, but I've been working like mad to get this thing ready to go for this weekend. I've had this red brocade kicking around for the better part of a decade. It's not a period enough brocade pattern to make any real clothes out of, but it should work fine for fighting clothes. The sleeves are quilted with one layer of towel, with an extra three-layer pad in each elbow. The original sleeves didn't fit well, so I rebuilt them with separate lower sleeves. They're still a touch tight through the elbow, so I'm going to add a couple of small gussets inside the elbow to try to give a little more room. The skirt is padded with three layers of towel all around. The body (what there is of it in the space between the sleeves is unpadded. My main concern is that it will just be too darn hot, but we'll just have to see. Battle report should be posted next week.
